The teachers’ strike called this Thursday in Vallès and Maresme is affecting traffic on the main roads of both regions. According to Trànsit, the C-32 is closed in Mataró towards Barcelona. The same road is also closed in Cabrera de Mar towards Palafolls due to a demonstration.

Additionally, there are traffic jams from Arenys de Mar heading south and from Vilassar de Dalt heading north. Northbound traffic is diverted via exit 95 and southbound via exit 103.
Yesterday, the unions and the Department of Education failed to reach an agreement to end the teachers’ strike, after the sixth meeting and ten days of stoppage, the fourth in all centers in Catalonia. The Government informed the teachers’ representatives that it needs more time to fully assess the economic proposal and asked them to continue working this Thursday. The meeting, scheduled for 12:00 p.m., will take place at 3:00 p.m., according to Ustec.

For today, the unions called the teachers to meet at 8:00 a.m. at the Decathlon in Mataró. They have also organized a bike ride starting from Terrassa, Sabadell, Barberà del Vallès, and Sant Cugat to Cerdanyola del Vallès, on the way to the Faculty of Education of the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), where they plan to hold a paella and collect money for the resistance fund.
