A security camera captured the moment when the murderer of Claudia Tacoronte in Mexico was leaving the crime scene

Security cameras will be a key element in identifying the killer of the Spanish student Claudia Tacoronte Aguilera, who was stabbed in Mexico while on an exchange program in the country.

According to the Attorney General of Morelos, Fernando Blumenkron, in charge of the investigations surrounding the incident, investigators have requested the delivery of recordings from the “nearby” security cameras, including those of “private individuals,” as well as “whatever the board of the Casa de la Cultura” of Cuautla, where Tacoronte died, can provide.

In footage released through the media, one of the surveillance devices reportedly captured the alleged killer of Claudia minutes before committing the crime. Meanwhile, the governor of the Mexican state of Morelos, Margarita González Saravia, has pointed to the existence of “significant progress” in the investigation into the murder, before promising that the authorities “will find the responsible party” to deliver “justice” to the victim.

Saravia revealed in a statement published on social media that in recent hours she has held a meeting with the Consul General of Spain in Mexico, Marcos Rodríguez Cantero, to discuss the “significant progress” in the investigation surrounding the case, although no arrests have yet been made.

She has also published a video in which she conveyed her “deepest condolences” to the victim’s family and friends for “the femicide of Claudia Tacoronte,” before emphasizing that the authorities have been working “from the first minute” to “find the responsible party.”

“We are coordinating with the Morelos State Prosecutor’s Office, but also with the Spanish Consulate. I am sure we will find the responsible party and we will do justice,” she stressed. “As the State Government, our responsibility is to act firmly and provide answers,” she added.

“I requested the State Attorney General’s Office, with full respect for its autonomy, to deploy absolutely all its technical, intelligence, and operational resources to clarify this crime and bring whoever is responsible to justice,” the governor of Morelos concluded.
