Agents of the Mossos d’Esquadra have arrested a man this Saturday as the alleged perpetrator of a violent death committed this noon in Esplugues de Llobregat (Barcelona).

The events occurred around 11:00 a.m. this Saturday, when 112 received a call reporting that a man had injured a woman and fled the scene. Patrols of the Mossos d’Esquadra and personnel from the Medical Emergency System (SEM) went to the scene, but they could do nothing to save her life.
Subsequently, the alleged perpetrator was located and arrested. The Criminal Investigation Division has taken charge of the investigation, which is under secrecy of proceedings.
Esplugues condemns the murder, which affects “coexistence and security”
The City Council of Esplugues de Llobregat has condemned the murder, which it has described as a serious incident for which it expresses its “concern,” as it affects “coexistence and citizen security.”
Following these events, the council has issued a statement in which it “deeply regrets the violent death of a person in the city” and extends its condolences to her family and close ones.
It also reports that it is coordinating with the Mossos on this case, “and offers all necessary institutional collaboration to help clarify the facts.”
“Out of respect for the ongoing investigation and all affected persons, prudence and responsibility are requested, and the dissemination of unverified information should be avoided,” the statement concludes.
