The Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) reported this Sunday that the authorities have managed to contact three Spanish citizens following the massive flood last Wednesday, after which more than 500 foreigners remain missing.

“This Sunday, 289 tourists have been rescued, five are currently in contact (3 Spanish, 1 American, and 1 Belgian) and 591 remain out of contact,” confirmed the NTB in its latest update at 18:00 local time (12:15 GMT), citing the Tourism Police and the Disaster Authority (NDRRMA).
A total of five foreign tourists are located and in direct contact with the Nepalese authorities, including three Spaniards, one American, and one Belgian.
The report does not specify whether this group has been evacuated from the area or is awaiting rescue at their locations, nor does it provide further details on whether there are still missing Spanish nationals.

The Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed on Saturday that two Spaniards remained missing after the devastating flood that has caused more than 800 deaths and 3,000 missing in Nepal and the Tibet Autonomous Region (China).

According to the agency, which maintains close coordination with the Tourism Police, the NDRRMA, and various diplomatic delegations, 591 foreigners remain completely out of contact.
The Spanish Embassy in New Delhi and the Honorary Consulate of Spain in Nepal, along with the Spanish Consulate General in Beijing, are closely monitoring the situation and are making arrangements with local authorities, providing all necessary consular assistance, sources from Foreign Affairs reported.
