The deposed president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, has reappeared publicly through a series of photographs shared on his official X and Instagram accounts from his confinement in the United States. In the images, dated June 25, 2026, the Venezuelan leader appears with an animated expression and accompanies the photographs with a message especially addressed to his grandchildren.

The images are made public two days after the government now led by his former vice president, Delcy Rodríguez, announced an agreement with the Donald Trump Administration whereby Venezuela cedes 65 billion barrels of oil to the United States, about 22% of the country’s total reserves.
“I send these photos as a small gift to all my grandchildren, to the boys and girls, and to all the noble people who love us,” begins the message published alongside the photographs.
The Venezuelan leader adds: “I want you to know that we are firm, with hearts full of your love, that love that reaches us transformed into prayer, into permanent action, into solidarity and true support. Infinite thanks for every word, for every gesture, for every blessing.”

In his message, Maduro encourages his followers and family to receive the photographs with joy and hope, and especially remembers his family: “Enjoy this small gift with joy and hope. Cilia and I embrace you forever, with our souls focused on you and with faith intact in God.”
The message concludes with a call to maintain strength and confidence: “We will remain strong, serene, and confident: God is with us. God will provide. Venezuela will be reborn.” Finally, Maduro closes his post with a simple farewell: “Blessings.”
