Spectacular start

In Saturday’s Sprint, the braking at turn 1 decided the short race. The two Márquez brothers snatched the wallet from poleman Bezzecchi by slipping inside the first angle, risking with the brakes. It would be difficult to surprise the Italian again with the same move. “That’s what I hate about the Sprints, you show your cards and they have already read them,” said Marc. But the 93 again put his bike in the gap of the corner and momentarily took the lead. Bezzecchi, who knew the trick, recovered him at the third. The reason was that Marc had the starting device lowered and touched the keel on the curb.

In just two laps (lap 16/23), the lead was already 1.6 seconds over Acosta and 2.7s over Bezzecchi. With worn tires, the Cervera rider makes the difference. He was already unreachable. His eighth victory at Motorland, his favorite garden, no one would take away from him anymore.
