That match marked the return to competition for the Calchín native (province of Córdoba), after entering the field in the 66th minute, following his participation with the Argentine national team in the World Cup in the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
The Argentine attacker had a rough night due to the mentioned indisposition, so he did not participate in the morning session at the Majadahonda Sports Center, where Diego Simeone, coach of the Madrid team, began preparing for the third round LaLiga EA Sports match on Saturday against Sevilla, currently at the top of the championship, at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán stadium.
