Pretrial detention for the two arrested in the Tauste crime

The two detainees for the homicides in Tauste (Zaragoza) of the former secretary of the Union of Farmers and Ranchers of Aragon (UAGA), Javier Sánchez, and his wife, Esther Latorre, one of their daughters and her partner, have been sent to provisional prison after appearing this Thursday before the judicial authority in Ejea de los Caballeros and refusing to testify.

Both have been sent to the Zuera prison (Zaragoza), according to their legal representatives.

The detainees had arrived in separate cars at the courts of Ejea de los Caballeros, the judicial district to which Tauste belongs, early this Thursday from the Valdespartera barracks, in Zaragoza city.

Javier Sánchez and Esther Latorre were murdered, according to the Civil Guard, on Friday night and the bodies were found with stab wounds by some relatives on Saturday night in different rooms of their home.

The arrest of the couple’s eldest daughter and her partner, a man of Colombian nationality, took place in Zaragoza on Monday at noon.

That same day, more than a thousand people paid tribute to the couple in a secular event held in Tauste in which political, agricultural representatives, family and friends participated, highlighting the human and fighting stature of both.
