Wildberries had to evacuate 800 people from a logistics center in Yekaterinburg on the morning of this Friday due to a new attack by Ukrainian drones, which ended up causing a fire at the plant. This is the warehouse farthest from the border (1,800 kilometers) since Kyiv began striking the facilities of the largest Russian e-commerce company in mid-July.

The press service of the Russian giant, known as the ‘Russian Amazon,’ explained that thanks to the attack alerts, a safe early evacuation was possible. The presidential representative in the Ural region, Artiom Zhoga, assured that the attack caused no injuries.
Denis Pasler, governor of the Sverdlovsk oblast, whose capital is Yekaterinburg, said that in the early hours from Thursday to Friday, the military air defenses shot down eight Ukrainian drones. The remains of three of them, however, fell on the roof of the Wildberries warehouse, which caused the fire to start.

The company assured that the firefighting teams then began extinguishing efforts. Meanwhile, the plant’s activity has been halted. “The receipt of goods is temporarily restricted. They are being redirected to other facilities,” said its press service in a statement.

The attacks by the Ukrainian army’s Drone Forces against Wildberries warehouses began on July 18, when they hit two plants, one in Kotovsk (Tambov oblast), causing seven deaths; and another in Elektrostal (Moscow Province), with one fatality.
Afterwards, the attacks reached facilities in different geographical points of Russia, such as Saint Petersburg (northwest), Simferopol in the annexed Crimean peninsula, Krasnodar and Volgograd (south), or Samara (Volga).
With the latest strike against the Yekaterinburg warehouse, 1,800 kilometers from the Ukrainian border, 22 Wildberries logistics centers have now been attacked by Ukrainian drones. In 17 of them, they managed to hit the facilities, according to calculations made by the newspaper RBK. In another five, the company proceeded to evacuate its staff, but the unmanned aircraft did not hit their target.
