The Andic family showed strong support this Tuesday for the decision of the eldest son of the family, Jonathan Andic, to temporarily leave the vice presidency of the textile empire Mango to focus on defending himself against the homicide charge against him. The case investigates the death of the group’s founder, Isak Andic, in a fall during a walk with his son in Montserrat in December 2024.
In a statement following the publication of an open letter in which the son broke his silence, the Andic family expressed their “absolute and unconditional support” for the decision to step aside temporarily, also reiterating their “full confidence in Jonathan’s innocence.”
“The family wishes to express its absolute and unconditional support for the decision made by Jonathan to temporarily step away from his dedication to Mango to focus on his defense,” it states. Outside the scope of the Mango business, the eldest son does maintain ties with other family, business, and social projects in which he is involved.
The until now vice president of Mango argues in his open letter that the “attention and focus” required by his defense in the judicial process prevents him from “maintaining the high commitment” demanded by his responsibilities in the company.

The family reiterates “their full confidence in Jonathan’s innocence”
The family’s statement insists that he is innocent. “The family wants to reiterate, once again, their full confidence in Jonathan’s innocence,” it points out, and they endorse the words of their lawyer, Cristóbal Martell, who has previously stated that “the homicide conjecture is inconsistent, but above all, painful.” “It stigmatizes an innocent man. Now the process truly begins and the truth and innocence will shine,” Martell said and the family statement explains.
The lawyer is expected to file the appeal against the prison order for an alleged homicide offense before Thursday, which was signed exactly a week ago by magistrate Raquel Nieto for the death of Isak Andic. The document will be sent to the Barcelona Court, responsible for the resolution.
