At Casa Cupra Raval, formerly Casa Seat, from 10 to 11 am, the head of Culture and Nobel Prize chaser, Xavi Ayén (Planeta Nobel, Libros de Vanguardia); the head of opera, dance, and classical music, Maricel Chavarría (Rosalía, por ahí por Barcelona…, Libros de Vanguardia) and the latest Fernando Lara award winner, Sergio Vila-Sanjuán (Misterio en el Barrio Gótico, Planeta), who leads the Cultura/s supplement, and who will later visit Passeig de Gràcia and Rambla Catalunya, will be signing. For their part, the first two will also be seen at the +Bernat bookstore – from 12 to 1 pm Ayén and from 6 to 7 pm, Chavarría, who will have previously signed at Passeig de Gràcia 46 and at the Plaça bookstore, on Passeig de la Reina Elisenda de Montcada. At +Bernat, other signatures from the newspaper will also be present, such as those of José Enrique Ruiz Domènec (Un viaje personal por el arte europeo, Libros de Vanguardia, from 12 to 1 pm), Raquel Quelart (Cuida tu bolsillo, Libros de Vanguardia) and the members of La Contra (from 5 to 6 pm) and Anna Gener (Sobre la belleza, Libros de Vanguardia, from 6 to 7 pm).

There will be authors from the newspaper at stands from Diagonal to Passeig de Gràcia or in cities like Figueres

Those passing through Plaça Universitat in the morning can greet Enric Juliana at 11 am (Viaje a un nuevo mundo, Arpa). At the same time and until 1 pm, colleague David González will be at stand 11 on Passeig de Gràcia. (Cancelar lo humano, Albada).

An hour later, from 12 to 1 pm, at the Orix bookstore, dedicated to nature lovers (Balmes 71), the newspaper’s environmental specialist, Antonio Cerrillo, will sign the book Jordi Sargatal, l’home que seguia els ocells, Icaria).

Also on Balmes, at number 26, Laura Freixas will be with Mi madre en el espejo (Tres Hermanas) from 4 to 5 pm and before that, from 1 to 2 pm, at the Feministes de Catalunya stand (Sicília, 166). And if you prefer to talk about music, critic Donat Putx (Canet Rock, Enderrock) has plenty to talk about and will be at 2 pm at the Col·legi de Periodistes and at 5 pm at Vallespir, 59. Also at the Col·legi de Periodistes, Xavi Casinos ( Barcelona Metropolitana, Ajuntament de Barcelona) will stop by at 10 am, with whom you can talk about the city; and at 4 pm Sergio Vila-Sanjuán and other collegiate journalists from Catalonia.

Several writers are preparing for a marathon non-stop day, which will extend from early morning until almost closing time: David Uclés, Lucía Solla Sobral, Llucia Ramis, Carlos Zanón, Norbert Bilbeny, Màrius Serra, Carme Riera, Javier Melero, Manuel Vilas… All of them will be wandering through the different tents spread across Passeig de Gràcia, Rambla Catalunya, and the new literary axis that starts at Portal de l’Àngel and extends to Via Laietana. If you wish to visit them, especially during peak hours, it is advisable to go with time, as they are some of the authors expected to have the longest queues during the day, which is always good news, especially considering that their books cover topics as diverse as the housing problem, literary (and criminal) Barcelona, and toxic relationships, as well as stories with autobiographical elements.

The director of libraries, archives, and museums of the Madrid City Council, Emilio del Río, will also attend the Diada to talk about Pequeña historia de la Antigua Roma (Espasa) at Passeig de Gràcia, 82 (from 11 am to 12 pm). Julià Guillamon (Rascaparets, Galaxia Gutenberg) will be in two cities: at 1 pm he will be in Figueres, at the Museu del Joguet, and from 7 to 8 pm at the Obaga bookstore tent, on Girona street in Barcelona.

And the list continues: José R. Ubieto, Toni Aira, Xavier Marcet, Oriol Montanyà… Don’t hesitate to upload a photo to social media if you visit any of them and tag La Vanguardia. Because a shared Sant Jordi is always better.
